Describing Maps
There are a variety of verbs you can use to describe changes in maps.
When we are describing maps, we will be mostly using passive voice.

We don’t know who made the changes.

The object and the action done to it are more important.
Passive voice structure:
Subject + be + past participle.
When turning a sentence from active to passive voice, change the object pronoun to the subject.
She handed him a pen. (Active)
He was handed a pen by her. (Passive)
They moved the shops to the other side of the street. (Active)
The shops were moved to the other side of the street. (Passive)
Using nouns
To give yourself a greater range of sentence structures, you can use nouns instead of verbs to describe the changes.
The shops were constructed in the south-east corner. (Using verbs)
There was the construction of shops in the south-east corner. (Using nouns)
